Toronto, June 2, 2025 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) has been named the Electrified Fleet Partner of the 2025 Canada Games.
Held in St. John’s in Newfoundland and Labrador from August 8 to 25, the 2025 Canada Games will bring together able-bodied athletes and athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities for the largest amateur multi-sport event in the country. Alternating between winter and summer, the Canada Games span more than 30 different sports to showcase the best in Canadian sport and spirit.
Toyota Canada is providing a fleet of 50 fully electric bZ4X vehicles to support the operations, logistics and transportation needs of the Games. The zero-emission fleet will play a central role in the delivery of sustainable, carbon-neutral event operations, aligning with the Games' goal to be the greenest Games ever held in Canada.
The partnership is backed by all 26 Toyota dealerships across Atlantic Canada.
“Toyota Canada, along with our Atlantic Canada dealers, are proud to support the Canada Games by providing them with a fleet of fully electric vehicles,” said Patrick Ryan, TCI’s Atlantic and Quebec Zone Manager. “Our Toyota dealers will be cheering on their local athletes, coaches and families participating in the Games — a clear demonstration of community connection and regional pride.”
Additionally, TCI will provide hands-on electric vehicle (bZ4X) training for Games volunteers to ensure they are fully immersed in the electrified driving experience.
“We are proud to welcome Toyota Canada Inc. as the Electrified Fleet Partner of the 2025 Canada Games, said Kim Keating and Karl Smith, Co-Chairs, 2025 Canada Games Host Society Board of Directors. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to sustainability and helps ensure the Games leave a lasting, environmentally and socially positive impact on Newfoundland and Labrador.”
The Canada Games spark greatness in the next generation of athletes and leaders and create enduring legacies that transform communities from coast to coast to coast. The Games are a key milestone in the development of Canada’s future national, international, Olympic, Paralympic and Special Olympics champions.
Each Canada Summer Games features two weeks of competition, between 16 and 20 sports, approximately 4,600 participants (athletes, coaches and managers), and over 5,000 volunteers.
